Meet Doug Larson
Through the use of music and storytelling, I have been able to reach the hearts of children to help them understand the joyful message of hope found through God’s Word. Some of the stories I share are based on my own children and personal up-close experiences from life that are sure to make you laugh, cry, and shout for joy.
After receiving a strong conviction from my Lord and Savior, with confirmation coming from my family and friends, I devoted my life to full-time ministry in 1992. I have always had a passion and love for children. I felt Jesus Christ was calling me to serve as His vehicle to deliver His message, not by preaching, but by showing His Love through the use of my spiritual gifts of singing and storytelling.
My mission is pretty straight forward and simple: I want to encourage children and their families in hopes that they seek a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I don’t only want to share the gospel message of Jesus Christ, but to show them through my singing and storytelling. In this world, it is easy for us to condemn by using the law. However it’s the gospel message of the living water that Jesus Christ offers each of us so we will thirst no more, that people are needing to see and hear.
I hold an Elementary Education Degree from Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota, and I trained in the Family Life Ministry Program at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska.
As a vital part of the ministry, I serve as a song leader and share my expertise in children’s music and storytelling at schools, churches, and organizations, including regional and national conventions across North America.
Doug and his wife , Michelle, have been married 27 years and have five adult sons: Jordan, Jacob, Caleb, Isaac, and David .
